Nova Upholstered Waiting Chair

The Nova upholstered waiting chair combines the cool comfort of a mesh back with the softness of an upholstered seat. We have installed, dismantled and repaired it many times in hospitals, private clinics and busy public buildings, so we know its strengths and weak spots well. Each chair is made to order in our workshop.

Why Choose the Nova Upholstered Waiting Chair?

Most customers look at upholstery and color first, which is natural. We look at the frame first: are the metal connections solid, do the legs sit flat? If those are weak, no amount of styling will make the chair last. Nova's frame is solid overall.

Much cheaper "identical" copies exist on the market. They tend to wobble and creak within five or six months, and we do not recommend them.

Mesh Back and Ergonomic Shell

The backrest is a rigid plastic shell shaped to support the body and spine, reducing the risk of back and lower-back discomfort during long waits.

The mesh over the shell improves airflow and prevents sweating, a real advantage in crowded waiting rooms. The mesh used on Nova is medium-firm and does not slacken quickly.

The Upholstered Seat Matters

In a waiting chair, foam quality affects both guest comfort and how your space looks. Poor foam collapses within a year. Nova uses 5 cm medium-firm grey foam that keeps its shape over long use.

Upholstery options:

• Faux leather: our recommendation for high-traffic areas, since it wipes clean easily.
• Fabric: a warmer touch, with colors chosen to match your interior.

Very cheap faux leather will crack in time, so we advise against economizing on upholstery.

Metal Arm and Nickel-Chrome Base

The back connects to the seat with a sturdy metal arm. Its upper part is fitted with a plastic cap, so guests do not rest their arms on cold bare metal.

The base is made from nickel-chrome plated metal tube bent on specialized machines. It offers lasting load-bearing strength, a modern look and corrosion resistance. In coastal areas any metal finish may dull over time; that is the environment, not the product.

Issues We See in Waiting Areas

• Loose mesh: most often caused by wiping with bleach or harsh chemicals.
• Loose metal joints: start when the chair is regularly grabbed and dragged.
• Scratched legs: from careless handling on hard floors.
