03Product description

Kuver mesh metal chair: durability starts with the frame

Our first encounter with the Kuver mesh metal chair was not an installation but a repair job. In one office, other chairs had fallen apart while this model was still going strong. Since then we have installed it many times in offices, meeting rooms and call centers. Some users loved it, others picked up on small details, and we share all of it below.

In short: Kuver Mesh Metal is a repairable mesh meeting and work chair with a metal-reinforced back and a movable lumbar pad. It is not flashy, but it does its job.

A weak frame can't be saved by what's on top

A chair's lifespan is decided by its inner structure, not by the fabric on its back. From the outside you can't tell the difference; it shows up a few years later.

This model has metal reinforcement in the back. It sounds simple, but it changes a lot. Backs without support gradually flex backwards until users say "the chair has collapsed." In reality, it is the frame that has failed, not the foam. For heavily used offices we don't recommend backs without metal reinforcement; they seem cheaper at first and cost more in the long run.

With mesh, the weave is what counts

People assume all mesh is the same. It isn't. Thin, loose mesh feels soft at first, then slackens until your back drops into a gap.

The mesh on Kuver Mesh Metal has a denser weave. It flexes when you sit and springs back when you stand. That recovery removes the most common reason behind "it was great for the first year, then it went." It also reduces sweating in rooms without air conditioning, though it is still a synthetic material, not magic.

A lumbar pad that actually works

The lumbar support here is not fixed; it moves. Some users raise it, others lower it, and that is what makes it effective. When the lower-back gap is filled during long meetings or computer work, posture improves and your back feels less tired by evening.

Why is the seat firm?

Because it was deliberately not made soft. The seat uses 5 cm of high-density gray foam. It may feel firm on day one, and it will feel the same three months later.

  • Pro: Doesn't sink over time.
  • Pro: Seating balance stays consistent.
  • Con: Won't please those who want a "cloud-soft" chair.

Upholstery is fabric or faux leather in the same tone as the back.

Mechanism, armrests, base and casters

  • Mechanism: A simple single-lever tilt that reclines and locks. No complicated system means a lower risk of failure.
  • Armrests: Plastic arms that cause no trouble in normal use but can crack under impact. We don't recommend carrying the chair by its arms.
  • Base: A plastic star base. It isn't as strong as metal, so for heavier users a metal-base model makes more sense; for normal office use it is sufficient.
  • Casters: Quiet PU casters that leave no marks on parquet or laminate.

Who is it for?

Open-plan offices, meeting rooms, call centers and companies that value durability, lumbar support and repairability. If you are looking only for the lowest price, we would not point you to this metal-reinforced model. Explore more options in our mesh work chair and mesh conference chair categories.

The biggest cleaning mistake

Using strong chemicals stiffens the mesh and cracks the upholstery, and then the material gets blamed. Lukewarm water, a little soap and a soft cloth are enough; vacuum the mesh occasionally.

Repairability and ordering

The mesh, foam, mechanism, lumbar pad, casters and base can all be replaced with original parts that we keep on hand. The chair is made to order in your choice of color, upholstery and quantity, with a typical lead time of around one week that can extend in busy periods. Custom products cannot be returned.

Questions about this model

Have a question?

It stops the back from gradually flexing backwards and collapsing. In busy offices it noticeably extends the chair's working life.
