Who is the Rippe mesh work chair for?

Mesh back and sitting feel

The back is a perforated mesh panel stretched over a contoured plastic shell. Side supports fill the lumbar area for balanced seating, while the mesh flexes with your movements and keeps air flowing. In closed offices, especially during summer, you notice the cooler back right away.

The mesh is of medium firmness. It is not a premium-grade fabric, but it does not give up quickly either. Under constant heavy loads, some stretching over time is normal.

Seat foam and upholstery

The seat has 5 cm of foam, upholstered in faux leather or fabric. It feels soft without being unstable and spreads pressure across the hips and thighs.

With intensive daily use, the foam starts to soften after about a year. This is typical for chairs in this class, not a defect, and the foam can be renewed in our workshop.

Mechanism, armrests and base

The under-seat mechanism raises and lowers the chair and lets it tilt forward or backward, locking in the chosen position. It is a straightforward system, which makes repairs simple when needed.

Integrated black plastic armrests reinforce the seat-to-back connection and keep elbows at a natural height for typing and mouse work. A chrome five-arm star base on large, soft casters rolls quietly across hard floors.

A tip from the field: The damage we see most often comes from yanking the chair while someone is sitting on it. This strains the caster sockets and base joints, and eventually leads to a bent base.

Cleaning and care

• Wipe upholstery with a damp cloth; avoid chemical cleaners.
• Dust the mesh lightly without pressing into it.
• Dry-wipe the chrome base and clear hair or threads from the casters now and then.
