Zeta Meeting Chair

The Zeta Meeting Chair is a compact, mobile meeting chair used in meeting rooms, short presentations and team discussions. Because we see it in the field so often, we know both its strengths and its limits well. Let's be upfront: the Zeta is not a chair to buy for every office by default. In the right space it is comfortable; in the wrong one it falls short of expectations.

Who is the Zeta meeting chair for?

Although its sitting feel recalls a mesh office chair, the Zeta should not be judged as one. It performs best in:

• Small and medium meeting rooms
• Short presentations and team huddles
• Client meeting tables
• Meeting corners in shared workspaces

We do not recommend it for meetings that run for hours or for all-day sitting. In large halls, fixed-leg models are usually the better choice.

How comfortable is the back really?

The back uses polyurethane foam that feels soft from the first sit. Most users like that initial feel, and short to medium meetings pose no problem at all.

To be honest, though, in meetings that last for hours, the support of such a soft back fades over time. We have heard this feedback in the field, so setting the right expectations matters.

• Note: Not ideal for all-day sessions.

Seat foam and upholstery

The seat uses 5 cm of foam, which is ample for a meeting chair. Many products on the market use much thinner foam that collapses quickly. The Zeta sits above average here, though it is not a miracle seat.

Upholstery choice: Faux leather is a big advantage for cleaning and practical in busy meeting rooms. Fabric is more comfortable but can stain, so choose it knowingly.

Armrests and joints

On the Zeta, the armrests are not just for resting elbows; they are structural parts that carry the seat and back. Loose joints start creaking and wobbling over time. This model has well-balanced joints, and since few things distract a meeting more than a squeaky chair, we pay close attention to this detail.

Is the caster base practical?

The chrome-plated metal frame on four casters makes it easy to roll toward or away from the table and change places. Participants can pull up to the table without lifting the chair.

Casters are not always an advantage, though:

• In very tight spaces they need more control than a fixed chair.
• On level floors they work smoothly and comfortably.
• Worn casters are easy to replace.

Size and space planning

The Zeta's compact form means it takes up little room, and lining chairs up around a table is simple. This is a clear advantage in small meeting rooms. For large, crowded halls, we suggest considering fixed-leg models instead.

Cleaning and care

• Wipe upholstery with a damp cloth without pressing.
• Avoid chemicals, which damage both foam and upholstery.
• Dry-wipe the frame and casters, and clear threads or hair from the casters now and then.

Repairs and spare parts

The real test comes a few years in. Alongside mesh chairs, we repair meeting chairs: caster replacement, foam renewal, back repair, and frame and connector replacement. Spare parts are sold directly, and a chair with available parts is always the safer choice.
