Four Questions That Decide Your Meeting Chair

1. How long are your meetings?

For short meetings and presentations, a polyurethane foam back is enough and feels soft from the start. For meetings that run for hours, mesh backs stay cool and keep their support longer.

2. How big is the room?

In small rooms, compact short-back chairs keep the space open. In large boardrooms, the proportion between chair and table matters; very slim chairs can look lost in a big room.

3. Do you need casters?

Casters help if people move around the table often. On thick carpet, however, they roll poorly and wear out, so fixed-base models are the better choice.

4. Is the room used for anything else?

If the room also hosts training or seminars, conference chairs with writing tablets or easy-to-carry fixed-leg models add flexibility.

Fabric or Faux Leather?

Upholstery directly affects comfort in meeting rooms. Quality fabric is cooler and does not cause sweating in long meetings, but it stains more easily. Faux leather wipes clean with a damp cloth and looks prestigious, though the seat can warm up during long sessions. For busy meeting rooms we usually recommend quality fabric, and faux leather for prestige spaces.

Common Problems with Meeting Chairs

The complaints we see most in our service workshop are squeaks from loose joints, legs bent from dragging and foam that flattens too soon. The fixes are simple: check fixing screws regularly, lift chairs instead of dragging them and avoid chemical cleaners. When problems do occur, we renew foam and replace casters, legs and connectors in our workshop.
